On this day (June 18) in 1815, France was defeated at the Battle of Waterloo. In the battle, the French army led by Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated by a coalition of allies led by Wellington and Blücher. Because of this, the French dream of subjugating Europe could not be fulfilled.

Before that he had won all the battles. Napoleon, born on August 15, 1769, was a French soldier and political leader. He gained fame for his success in the later French Revolution and related wars.

He was Emperor of France for the first time as Napoleon I from May 18, 1804 to April 6, 1814, and for the second time from March 20, 1815 to June 22, 1814. He died on May 5, 1821.
