Champion Lumbini Lions captain Rohit Poudel was declared the best Nepali player in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025 on Saturday. Under his leadership, Lumbini won its sixth consecutive match and clinched the title.
Lumbini defeated Sudurpaschim by six wickets in the final at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground. Rohit, who is also the captain of the Nepali national team, scored 276 runs in the second season of the NPL. In the final, he scored 16 runs in 12 balls.
Rohit has scored 555 runs in both seasons. He was equally successful with the ball. He took three wickets in 12 runs in the final. In the process, he scored a hat-trick.
The number of wickets he has taken this season has reached 10. Along with being selected as the best player, he also won the 'Jeiko J-5' SUV. He is also the player who has scored the most runs in the history of the NPL tournament.
Similarly, Ruben Trumpelman of Lumbini became the best overseas player. He has taken 15 wickets in 10 matches.
