Stefan Eskinazi's half-century led Kathmandu Gurkhaz to a comfortable 6-wicket victory over Pokhara Avengers in Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Saturday. After Eskinazi scored 60 runs, Gurkhaz completed the target of 139 runs by scoring 142 runs in just 14.1 overs.

  After the

win, Kathmandu Gurkhaz has 6 points in 6 games. Chitwan Rhinos and Gurkhaz are in the fourth and fifth place respectively with 6 points. Janakpur Bolts 10 and Sudurpaschim Royals and Karnali Yaks are second and third with 8 points. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs. Kathmandu will play their last match against Biratnagar Kings on Sunday.  

Eskinazi scored a 28-ball half-century at the Trivi Cricket Ground in Kirtipur along with Michael Levitt to give Gurkhaz an aggressive start. Although Levitt was dismissed for 33 runs in 18 balls with 6 fours and 1 six, Gurkhaz showed the best batting performance by adding 59 runs in the first 6 overs and 95 runs in the first 10 overs of the power play.

Levitt was stumped by Andries Gauss off Vipin Khatri . Eskinazi then shared a partnership of 67 runs in 37 balls with Bhim Sarki for the second wicket. Bhim played 20 balls and got out after hitting 1 four and a six. Eskinazi hit 10 fours in 34 balls. Captain Karan KC, who was sent up to finish the

game, scored only 1 run and was stumped by Vipin's ball. Jehrrad Ersmus, who hit a six and a four in the first two balls he faced, played 10 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes and scored 25 and Rashid Khan remained unbeaten with 1 run .

Pokhara, who won the toss and was invited to bat, scored 138 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Karan and Rashid took 3 wickets each from Kathmandu. Karan spent 24 runs in 4 overs and Rashid 43 runs in 4 overs . Erasmus took 14 wickets in 4 overs and Levitt took 1-1 wickets with only 13 runs in 3 overs.
