Dr. Krishnahari Budhathoki of the National Independent Party (RIP) won in Ramechhap, the only constituency for the House of Representatives election. Budhathoki secured 24,808 votes, defeating his nearest rival Madhav Prasad Dhungel of the CPN-UML by a margin of 7,199 votes. Dhungel secured 17,609 votes. Similarly, Ramchandra Khadka of the Nepali Congress secured 16,307 votes. Similarly, Shyam Kumar Shrestha of the Nepal Communist Party secured 13,354 votes, while Deep Bahadur Yonjan of the Ujjaya Nepal Party secured 7,210 votes.
Who is Budhathoki
Dr. Budhathoki was born in Gelu, Manthali Municipality-12, Ramechhap. He has a master's degree in various subjects and a PhD in economics. Budhathoki has more than 20 years of work experience in the banking and financial sector. He also has experience in research-based work to identify and solve problems in the financial sector.
For the past 10 years, he has been running the 'Ramechhap Development Debate' program. Through the program, emphasis was placed on entrepreneurship development, production growth, marketing, and linking education with skills for the prosperity of the district.
Many locals of Ramechhap consider the 'Ramechhap Development Debate' as an important initiative to start a debate on the development of the district. Budhathoki, who is known as a social and educational activist, was also the founding president and coordinator of Ramechhap-Kathmandu Creative Society Nepal.
Through that organization, he has contributed to social and humanitarian services.
According to Mohan Karki, Deputy Chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSWP), Ramechhap, Budhathoki, who was born on Bhadra 10, 2038 BS, became a member of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) only on Magh 3, 2082 BS.
