Ujjwal Kumar Jha has been elected from the National Independent Party from Mahottari-3. He won by getting 32,451 votes. His nearest rival, Nepal Federal Socialist Party candidate Rizwan Ansari, got only 5,969 votes.
Jha is an engineer by profession. The 33-year-old Jha, who had previously filed his candidacy as an independent candidate in the 2079 elections, had entered the election fray from the National Independent Party (RSP).
Born in Mahottari, Jha is a permanent resident of Ekarada Rural Municipality. Jha completed his engineering studies from VITI Telgam. Due to his engineering background, he reached out to the voters by making development, infrastructure and good governance the main agenda. Whose agenda became the first link to becoming a winner. He is also a member of a well-known political family in Mahottari. His grandfather Kulananda Jha was a famous leader during the Panchayat period. His grandfather is still remembered by the locals as a 'justice-loving leader'. It is said that this family background inspired him towards social service and public life. He is known locally as a social and active young face. After being elected, Jha has expressed his commitment to work in return for the affection shown by the voters. In the 2079 BS provincial assembly elections, he received significant votes as an independent candidate. In that election, the then Democratic Socialist Party candidate Rani Kumari Tiwari won with 6,414 votes, while Ujjwal made a strong presence by getting 5,489 votes. At that time, he had succeeded in showing his political potential by beating the candidates of the major parties.
He succeeded in creating an image of an educated, honest and development-oriented youth among the local voters, and the voters here elected him to the House of Representatives.
