Khadak Bahadur Budha of Nepali Congress has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives in Jajarkot. According to the final results, Budha won by a margin of 2,735 votes.
Budha got 20,142 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) candidate Shakti Bahadur Basnet, got 17,407 votes. CPN-UML candidate Dambar Bahadur Singh got 16,883 votes.
Budha is the acting president of Nepali Congress Jajarkot. Born on 20 Mangsir 20, 2042 in Shivalay Rural Municipality-9, Nahada, Budha has completed his postgraduate studies. Budha was defeated for the post of president of Shivalay Rural Municipality in 2074 BS. He started politics from Nepal Students Union and was the president of the Self-Union University of Bheri Gyanodaya Campus in 2064 BS.
He said that he will work according to the wishes of the people of the district as the voters made him victorious in difficult circumstances. He said that he is committed to fulfilling the agenda he has put forward. ‘I have prepared an action plan with a roadmap for tomorrow’s Jajarkot,’ he said, ‘What is the pain that the people of the district experienced yesterday?’ My main agenda is to connect every issue of the district with the state and take it on the path of good governance, development and prosperity. I will move forward on this basis.’
Former Maoist candidate Shakti Bahadur Basnet was previously elected in the House of Representatives elections. He was elected as a member of the House of Representatives in 2070, 2074 and 2079.’
