Senior leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Balendra Shah has maintained his lead by securing 66,200 votes. His rival, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, has secured 18,095 votes. Until a few moments ago, Balendra was leading by a margin of 43,000 votes.

As the counting of votes nears its end, Balendra is increasing his lead. According to the Election Office, Jhapa, about 3,000 votes are yet to be counted.
