26 years of politics from Janamorcha, journey to parliament from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

The voters of Kailali-3 had a clear agenda behind Joshi's trust. Whether it was farmers suffering from the erosion of the Khutia and Mohana rivers or farmers struggling due to lack of fertilizer and seeds, Joshi made everyone's concerns his agenda.

A new wave has emerged in the politics of the Far West. In Kailali Constituency No. 3, which has been considered a 'fortress' of old and established parties for years, the pace of change this time has been such that it has overturned the traditional legacy of decades.

The leader of the National Independent Party (NISP) Jagat Prasad Joshi has become the carrier of this change. The wave of bells and the slogan of good governance that has spread across the country has opened the door to parliament for Joshi. Despite being steadfast in the ideas and principles of the Rastriya Janamorcha Party for about 26 years, Joshi was lagging behind in the electoral arithmetic.

But this time he has defeated the strong opponents of the main party by a wide margin. Joshi won by 8,376 votes, beating his nearest rival Birman Chaudhary of the Nepali Communist Party. While he received 20,359 votes, Chaudhary of the NCP received 11,983 votes.

Similarly, Bhim Baduwal, who is considered a strong candidate of the NC, came in third place. He received 9,706 votes. Bikram Chaudhary of the Civil Liberation Party Nepal got 6,747 votes.

In this area, the CPN-UML has fallen to fourth place. UML candidate Gauri Shankar Chaudhary got 4,752 votes while Rastriya Prajatantra Party's Birendra Bahadur Bam got 2,347 votes.

Born in 2043 in Jayaprithi Municipality-2 of Bajhang, Joshi has a master's degree in sociology and political science. Joshi is also a teacher who teaches social and English subjects. Many people also know him as a yoga instructor.

26 years of loyalty and that one decision

2056. When the Maoist rebellion was at its peak in the country, Bajhang's youngster Jagat Prasad Joshi was learning politics from the All-Sixth of the National Janamorcha. Joshi did not leave the Janamorcha flag for 26 years. He held the responsibilities of district member, secretary and even state office secretary.

He was injured in the Janamorcha movement of 2062/63  But his faith in democracy was not injured. He remained steadfast in the same line of thought for years. He has not failed in elections many times. But ironically, no matter how much he sweated in politics, the election results did not come in his favor.

Joshi, who had a total of 360 votes in the second Constituent Assembly of 2070, had to settle for 137 votes when he contested the ward chairmanship in the local elections of 2079. But this time, both luck and coincidence met his match. Many accused him of being an opportunist, but he interpreted it as a search for a way out.

From the classroom to the parliament

Joshi is not only a politician, he is also a skilled teacher. While teaching social and English subjects in school, he taught hundreds of students the lessons of patriotism and morality. Today, the people have sent Joshi, who spoke against good governance and corruption in the classroom, to the parliament with the responsibility of putting those lessons into practice.

His teaching profession and experience as a yoga instructor gave him a strong foundation to connect with the people. Joshi, who is associated with various local-level organizations, has become his biggest asset in this election.

The voters of Kailali-3 had a clear agenda behind Joshi's trust. Whether it was farmers suffering from the erosion of the Khutiya and Mohana rivers or farmers struggling due to lack of fertilizer and seeds, Joshi made everyone's heartbreak his agenda.

The wave of bells that went around the country gave him more energy. But this journey was definitely not easy for Joshi. He was accused of changing parties. There was also a weak electoral history and confusion in the local organization. However, when the people rang the bell for change, all those challenges disappeared.

The agenda of good governance that he carried in the Janamorcha yesterday and the dreams of prosperity that he saw in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today are the same. The people of Kailali-3 have set his parliamentary journey with the responsibility of realizing those dreams. Now it is time to complete that journey responsibly.
