With just one day left for the silence period to begin, the main parties - Congress, UML, Nepali Communist Party and National Independent Party - have intensified their election campaign on Sunday. According to the Election Commission's schedule for the House of Representatives elections to be held on 21 Falgun, the silence period is starting from Monday.

On the last day of campaigning, the main parties intensified their formal election campaigns on Sunday. The Congress held election rallies in half a dozen areas of Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Kavre, while the UML held street demonstrations in Dang and Surkhet. Similarly, the NCP, which held a street demonstration in Rolpa on Saturday, concentrated in Chitwan on Sunday.

Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa managed to address election rallies in Kirtipur, Samakhusi, and Balaju in Kathmandu and Nuwakot throughout the day on Sunday. Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma addressed rallies in Pepsicola, Jhaktapur, and Kavre in Kathmandu. UML President KP Sharma Oli and NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal continued the election campaign through video messages. Similarly, senior NCP leader Balendra Shah, who held a 'road show' in the Kathmandu Valley on Saturday, joined the 'road show' in Jhapa on Sunday.

Oli was busy going door-to-door in his constituency of Jhapa-5 until Sunday evening. UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel held a large meeting with a street demonstration in Dang-2. Similarly, UML has also held an election demonstration in Birendranagar, Surkhet. Addressing a meeting in Kirtipur on Sunday, Congress President Thapa said that his party has come up with a five-year plan for the country, including plans for the economy. Stating that in the past, anger and questions have arisen among the general public due to the parties' involvement in the game of power, Thapa said that some parties have moved forward with the politics of incitement and hatred on this basis.

As the future Prime Minister, he tried to reassure voters by saying that he has come up with a plan to run the country with understanding. 'All other parties are rubbish, only our party is a threat. This politics of incitement and hatred will not get anywhere,' President Thapa said, 'The language of hatred and incitement cannot be used to manage the country. I need a team to move the country forward in five years. The Congress does not waste five years. The country can be resolved on the basis of the rule of law.'

Stating that the Congress is not in the mood to form and destroy the government, Thapa said that he has come to give concrete results in five years. 'The country cannot be run by one person alone. I cannot solve the problem overnight by doing magic, I need the trust of the Parliament, Provincial Assembly and the municipality.' Stating that the Congress will not get involved in the game of forming and destroying the government, he said that if the results are in his favor, he has come with the determination and plan to spend every moment on good governance and development of the country.'

'In the past, we were more involved in the struggle to form the government. No one is innocent in this. All parties are involved in the business of forming and sustaining the government,' he added, 'The Maoists with 32 seats wanted a Prime Minister, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh wanted a Home Minister. Congress and UML must form the government.' He said that according to the 'mandate' of the Gen-G protest against corruption on 23 Bhadra in favor of good governance, he has the moral strength to investigate the assets of Sher Bahadur Deuba first, Gagan Thapa, KP Oli or Prachanda second. He said that Congress wants a situation in the coming days where youth will not be allowed to die from bullets or burn down Singha Durbar wearing a Mukundo.

He said that after he said that he could earn two lakh rupees by sitting on the hills of Kirtipur and doing IT work, that was turning into reality. 'The job of a leader is to dream. After talking about the hills of Kirtipur, young friends came and said that they were earning more than you said,' Thapa said, 'After that, we drafted a law that can be done in the IT sector.' He said that in the Congress's manifesto, he promised to make the information technology sector an important industry within five years and increase it to five percent of the gross domestic product. Addressing the Samakhusi Chowk meeting, Thapa said that he was also ready for a debate between the future prime ministers. "We expected that there would be a heated debate among the proposed prime ministers on what to do in the next five years. We wanted to have a debate," he said.

There was a public discussion that a debate should be held between Thapa, who was put forward by the Congress as the future prime minister, UML Chairman Oli and senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Shah. Although Thapa and Oli were ready for the debate, Shah had refused. At the meetings in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, Deputy Chairman Sharma said that the Congress had come with plans for economic growth, employment, education and health. The Congress concentrated in the capital after the meetings in Janakpur, Surkhet, Pokhara, Dhangadhi and other areas. Chairman Thapa and Deputy Chairman Sharma addressed those meetings.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh had held election meetings in Jhapa, Itahari, Janakpur, Bharatpur, Dhangadhi, Butwal and Surkhet. Those meetings were addressed by President Ravi Lamichhane and senior leader Shah. Oli, who addressed 40 meetings in the 2070 general election, was more limited to his constituency this time. Dahal, who addressed 30 districts in the 2070 general election, was also able to address only one large meeting this time. He addressed the Rolpa election meeting on Saturday.

RPP President Rajendra Lingden addressed various election meetings in Jhapa-3, while motorcycle rallies and corner meetings were also held in some areas of Kathmandu. Janmat Party President CK Raut addressed rallies, door-to-door meetings and meetings in various villages of Saptari. Ujjaya Nepal Party President Kulman Ghising participated in various election programs in Kathmandu-3.

Oli's video message

As the election approaches, UML President Oli has addressed the voters through a video address, calling on them to vote for the party with the spirit of putting the country first. Saying that his dreams were also burnt when Singha Durbar, Supreme Court, Parliament building, and police station were burnt on 24 Bhadra, he has urged people to vote for UML to protect the country and the constitution, saying that he is contesting the election in the latter half of his life.

‘Let the self-satisfaction that I decided in favor of the nation remain with you. Even so, my days to live are less than those who have lived. But I am fighting for those who have lived more than those who have lived,’ Oli said in a video message, ‘That is why I have been saying country first. Now the day has come for you to say country first. Country first means the constitution and rules first. Country first means the land and people first. And, country first means the constitution and rules first. Only if the constitution survives, your rights survive.’

Stating that a guarantee is needed to protect the constitution from this election, Oli said, ‘Today we need a guarantee that the constitution will not be shaken, the rules will not be broken, and rights will not be trampled upon. For that guarantee, we need a sense of country first today.' He added that Singha Durbar, courts, parliament, roads, government offices, police stations, and security agencies were all built with the taxes and trust of the people, adding, 'When these structures burn, not only your trust but also your dreams burn, have burned. Today, we need a guarantee that these will never burn.'

Oli, mentioning that country first means national independence and self-respect first, said that 'our strength is the power to be proud of our land, borders, and identity.' 'That is why today we need a guarantee that we will not lose our self-respect,' he said, 'for that guarantee, we need a sense of country first today.'

Oli said that it is his duty to speak in favor of the nation at the last moment of his life. 'Are you in favor of protecting the nation or in favor of the nation's future no matter what? If you do not make it clear at this time which side you are in and do not speak for it, not history, but you yourself will never forgive yourself. "No one sees what history has condemned for themselves," he added, "but when you reach the last stage of your life, should you have spoken up or not? Should you have opened your eyes and ears or not? Should you have raised your hands or not?"

Vote for the NCP against two extremisms: Dahal

NCP coordinator Dahal has urged that the general elections to be held on 21 Falgun be held in a fair, free and peaceful manner. He also recalled the uncertain political situation after the Gen-G movement in a video message on Sunday and mentioned the facilitation done for the formation of an interim government and the stance taken for a fresh mandate. "My party has played an important role in bringing the country to the elections," he said, "While under the leadership of the government, good governance was initiated and efforts were made to establish the rule of law."

Dahal, mentioning that his party had continuously struggled against misrule, arrogance and arrogance even when he was in the opposition, urged the people to vote for the NCP by making an impartial assessment of the role of all parties in this election. ‘Urging all political parties, candidates, security personnel and voters to behave with restraint and responsibility in the election, it is everyone’s common responsibility to make the election successful to strengthen the democratic process,’ he said.

Dahal said that the country is grappling with the threat of two extremisms. ‘Today, the country is fighting against two big extremist threats, one extremism is inciting the anger and frustration of the people, pushing the country towards anarchy and bringing a crisis to national independence,’ he said, ‘The other extremism is status quoism, which cannot think of anything except the interests of brokers and middlemen. The force that can save the country and take it on a journey of prosperity by fighting both these extremisms is the leftist movement.’

He expressed his commitment to move forward by keeping the national interest at the center and urged people to vote. "In a political crisis, we are not inclined towards any power center, but we are also the ones who will expand self-respecting and balanced relations by keeping national interests at the center," he added, "I have come to seek votes to make what I did yesterday more powerful and result-oriented." He said that the NCP has come to the election fray to turn disappointment into hope and anger into construction.
