The UML has objected to the broadcast of misleading content prepared using AI technology, saying that the party's election symbol has been changed.
At a press conference organized at the party's central office in Chyasal on Wednesday, UML Publicity and Publication Department Chief Min Bahadur Shahi said that technology is being used in an unpolitical and irresponsible manner in election-related activities and propaganda across the country, and the party is opposed to it.
He said that artists are being used and technology is being misused with the aim of spreading confusion about various political parties, candidates and party election symbols, and that attempts are being made to attack the party leadership and policy. He said, "We strongly demand that anyone, including artists, who prepare and broadcast misleading news materials, including changing the party's election symbol, be brought under the legal ambit."
UML Publicity and Publication Department Chief Shahi objected to the materials posted on social media that target UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, use of abusive and vulgar words, and violate personal dignity and freedom. He said, "We strongly condemn and condemn such things."
He also said that the party has serious objections to AI-generated content, including the claim that the UML's election symbol, the sun, has changed.
