Gen-G leader Raksha Bam has said that she will not be a candidate in the elections to be held on February 21. Bam was proposed to become a candidate by parties ranging from the Congress to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

She has stated on social media Facebook that the streets are her political base and university, and that she will continue her movement and learning outside of parliament.

She has stated that it is her political conviction to be with the people of the land, writing, ‘Yesterday it was clear that we will not fight the election, and today it is clear too.’
