Two leaders of the Nepali Communist Party have announced their departure from the party on the eve of the nomination registration for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
They, who were aspiring candidates, announced their resignation from the party after not getting the ticket. CPN leader and former minister Rameshwor Ray Yadav and another CPN leader Shivapujan Ray have announced their resignation from the party.
Rameshwor, who was seeking the ticket, left the party after the CPN nominated Narayan Kaji Shrestha as its candidate from his constituency Sarlahi-3. Accusing the party of forcibly imposing decisions by the central committee without understanding the feelings of the cadres, he complained that he was forced to leave the party because he did not feel 'comfortable'.
He said that he felt it was unfair to form an organization at the local level by suffering and allowing others to benefit during the election.
Narayan Kaji Shrestha from the NCP and outgoing MP Hari Prasad Upreti from the CPN-UML have already got tickets in Sarlahi-3. When Upreti won the 2079 election, Rameshwor, who left the NCP in the 2074 election, won.
Meanwhile, NCP leader and Constituent Assembly member Shivpujan Rai of Sarlahi-4 has also announced his departure from the party. He announced his departure from the party after his son Abhinish Yadav was not fielded as a candidate and someone else was given a ticket.
Earlier, Shivpujan had also entered the fray from the then Maoist Center by fielding his daughter Madhumala. Shivpujan is known as a powerful leader in this region. The NCP has fielded Dr. Rajnish Rai as a candidate in Region 4.
