The voting for the new leadership of the UML has been completed. The voting was completed with 2,227 general convention delegates voting for the leadership. During the voting, 36 general convention delegates remained absent.

There is a competition between KP Sharma Oli and Ishwor Pokharel for the post of Chairman, while Shankar Pokharel and Surendra Pandey are competing for the post of General Secretary. The panel from both sides is also participating in other office bearers.

Currently, the work of extracting chips from 80 electronic machines is underway. After the chips are extracted, the counting of votes will begin. Different vouchers will be prepared for each of the 80 machines and they will have to be matched when counting the ballot papers and the votes cast in the machines. It is estimated that it will take two minutes to prepare the voucher for one machine.

It will take a total of 160 minutes to prepare the vouchers for 80 machines. After that, the machines are locked and the chips are sealed based on the different code numbers of the machines. The UML has stated that the results will be announced only after an all-party meeting is held after the center collection.  The Central Election Commission has stated that the results can be announced within three hours of the start of the counting of votes.
