Voting for the election of a new leadership in the UML is set to begin on Tuesday evening. Earlier, it was said that it would begin in the afternoon, but the Central Election Commission has stated that the voting will begin only in the evening due to coding in the electronic voting machines.

UML is going to use 80 electronic voting machines for voting in its 11th National Convention. Although 100 machines will be brought to the convention, 80 machines will be used for voting, informed Central Election Commission Chairman Vijay Subba.

According to Subba, it will take at least 25 to 30 minutes for a voter to vote. 2,262 delegates are participating in the convention.

Each delegate will have to vote for candidates other than those who are unopposed. The Central Election Commission has stated that 11 are unopposed. In this case, a delegate will have to vote for at least 292 people.

Since 80 machines will be used, 80 delegates will be able to vote at a time. Since it takes 25 minutes for one round, it will take at least 11 hours for 2,262 delegates to vote.

Similarly, Bharat Pokharel, a member of the Central Election Commission of the UML 11th General Convention, also said that it will take at least 10 hours to complete the voting.
