Makawanpur District President Shreedhar Pokharel has been defeated in the vote held to select representatives for the CPN-UML Central General Convention.
Pokharel, who is currently in Kathmandu for health treatment, had become a candidate for the central representative of the 11th General Convention from Makawanpur House of Representatives Constituency No. 1 as an open member. Despite receiving 334 votes, he failed to be selected as a representative. Former National Assembly member Ramchandra Rai was also not selected as a representative from the same group. He received 302 votes. Defeated Makawanpur Chairman Pokharel is considered close to UML Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel.
Bol Bahadur Karki was selected from this constituency for the youth category, Navin Sigdel, Sunil Moktan Phurba Dorje Lama and Anraj Zarga Magar (open) for the open category, and Aarti Pathak, Sita Bista and Binakumari Thing were selected for the women category. There were 17 candidates for the open category from this constituency.

Representatives have been selected by consensus for the House of Representatives constituency number-2.
