The Shekhar Koirala faction in the Congress is unhappy with the preparation of the impeachment against the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Indira Rana.
Koirala did not participate in the meeting called by Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday morning in Budhanilkanth. Koirala party MPs did not attend the gathering of signatures by calling MPs in the parliamentary party.
The Nepali Congress called a functionary meeting at the President's residence, Budhanilkanth. As soon as the meeting is over, he is calling his MPs to the lion court and signing.
On Monday evening, an agreement was reached between the leaders of Congress and UML at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, to remove the against the Deputy Speaker for not behaving according to his position. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Congress Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, Home Minister Ramesh Ulakar and other leaders.
'After this news came out, Shekhar Koirala did not participate in Budhanilkanth,' a leader of Koirala party said, 'It is our displeasure with the preparations to remove the Deputy Speaker.' Deputy Speaker Rana has been accused by two parties of not acting according to official conduct.
