Reading the news about the painful incident in Kailali jail has made me sad and angry. Seeing that the government and the concerned agencies are turning a blind eye to the fact that the unrest has been raging inside the prison for three weeks, their extreme carelessness and irresponsibility is evident.
It is not uncommon for one person to lose a precious life and many injured in this incident, it is a direct failure of the state.
The news also mentions that the prison chief is on vacation and the incident happened because of Nike's negligence. This cannot be an excuse. Will the security and management be in complete disarray without a prison chief? This is simply the weakness of the management side of the government. It is not hidden that the old inmates run their empire inside the prison under the guise of the administration and the power struggle with the new inmates takes such a violent form. All this is the result of inaction and apathy of the government. It is an inhuman act of the government to hold more prisoners than the capacity of the prison. Who will be responsible for the tension and chaos caused by keeping more than 695 people piled on top of each other in a prison with a capacity of 150 people? It can also be said that the government itself is doing the work of creating an atmosphere of clashes and violence.
There is a need for radical change in prison management. Responsibility and accountability of prison staff should be ensured. Strict action should be taken against the negligent officer. The problem of overcrowding should be solved immediately and emphasis should be placed on the construction of new prisons. Special security measures should be adopted to suppress 'gang war' and 'dadagiri' in prisons. Educational and vocational training should be conducted for the purpose of reforming inmates and if a prison is a reformatory it should fall within the definition. This incident is a warning. If the government does not take it seriously and make necessary improvements, it is certain that such incidents will be repeated in the future.

It was very sad to hear the news that one person lost his life and 48 others were injured in the violent incident in Kailali prison. After the
incident, the commission of inquiry is formed and because of the act of acting as if someone is guilty, such incidents are repeated. How did you get permission to carry sharp weapons inside the prison? Shouldn't the staff on duty monitor what is happening inside the prison? Can such sensitive things be manipulated?
