There was a general expectation that positive changes would occur and the roots of development would break through after the constitution was enacted in the country. However, a few old leaders dashed the hopes of the people.
They imposed nepotism and favoritism rather than merit. All institutions in the country were partyized. Those who protested against the king later became kings themselves.
Even though our leaders are old, if they had refined their thinking and behavior or acted according to the demands of changing times, there would have been no criticism. But that did not seem likely. Therefore, it is in the country's interest for KP Oli, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and others to voluntarily retire from politics according to the demands of the time.
We have experienced the rule of Oli, Deuba and Prachanda time and again. However, their entourage, relatives and workers benefited more than the country. There are still 20 percent poor in the country. Roads have not reached various parts. Unemployment is high. Bureaucracy dominates. It is difficult to get government services. There is corruption everywhere. And, there is despair among the people.
When the youth expressed dissatisfaction and anger on 23 Bhadra, the government used force to suppress the movement. It revealed the autocratic and terror-inducing character of the Oli-led UML-Congress government. That is why on 24 Bhadra, people of other generations also came to the street to protest, defying the curfew. Due to Oli's arrogance, arrogance and immaturity, more than 75 people died in two days of incidents.
There is still no sign of Oli, Deuba and Prachanda and other leaders coming to justice. The mischief shown by the parties in Madhesh Province for the past month makes it clear. Oli's latest speech also makes it clear.
Oli, Deuba and Prachanda are unsuccessful characters, who repeatedly try to get into the government. They do not try to get into justice. They vent their frustration.
They protect themselves by doing many things. They have partyized everywhere. They always focus only on how to get into the government. It is their style of work that has created dissatisfaction among the youth. Which has led to destruction. When will they understand this reality?
The generation born and raised on the internet, having seen the changes in other countries, wanted the system to be established here too, the youth to get opportunities, the government to be ruthless towards corruption, reforms in the government sector and improvements in the way the government works, but that did not happen.
Even though the desire for a change in leadership and trends has become more pronounced after the Gen-G movement, the Oli, Deuba or Prachanda trend is prevalent in the UML, Congress and Nepali Communist Party. The situation is similar in other parties as well. The youth have not even looked for characters like Mahesh Basnet and Shankar Pokharel as alternatives to Oli. The alternatives to Oli are not leaders who carry the Oli trend, but rather the Suhang Nembangs. The alternatives to Deuba for now are Gagan Thapas. The alternatives to Prachanda were Janardan Sharmas.
But the possibility of leadership transfer and generational transfer has become weak. KP Oli has been the Prime Minister only four times since the constitution came into effect. Now, even after so much destruction, he is still clinging to the chair of the UML chairman. Since Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba did not allow the youth to run the party, we have to see the old leaders' scheming. Even in the Nepali Communist Party, which is said to have been formed by ten left parties/groups, Prachanda and his team did not find any youth worth showing.
Whereas, the incident of 24th is worth discussing here. After the incidents of 23rd and 24th Bhadra, the Gen-G representatives who reached the battleground for discussions did not try to become the Prime Minister themselves. This understanding was also a message to the power-hungry leaders of the old parties.
Therefore, what arrogance or pride prevents the leaders of the grandfather's generation from trying to bring the youth into the mainstream of the state by becoming advisors in the party? The youth have sought good governance and their representation in the country. Now the parties should give tickets to the youth with a clean image and try to win. The reins of running the country should be given to the youth. The youth who have joined the party are not limited to being the slaves or pawns of the party.
The Nepali people themselves were and are fed up with the rule of the old leaders. So Oli, Deuba, Prachanda, Madhav Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal should retire from politics, rest, and become advisors. Please 'step down'. Now it is clear that none of you will come and build the country. So enough is enough.
The country will survive even without you Oli, Deuba or Prachanda. The country existed even when you were not born, and the country will exist even when you are no more. We are capable of saving the country. Instead, rest in your old age.
