The Police Headquarters has deployed 7 Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs) to all seven provinces for the effective implementation of the election security action plan and coordination between the 'field and the center'. Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki has deployed the AIGs from the headquarters to all seven provinces, returning only after the election is over.

Police spokesperson DIG Avinarayan Kafle informed that all the deployed AIGs are currently working in the field. According to Kafle, AIG Rajan Adhikari has been deployed in Koshi Province, Dambar Bik in Madhesh, Siddhi Bikram Shah in Bagmati, Manoj KC in Gandaki, Uma Prasad Chaturvedi in Lumbini, Sushil Singh Rathore in Karnali and Himalaya Kumar Shrestha in Sudurpaschim. Since the AIG has the same post in the valley, the security command here has been carried out by the AIG.

The security of the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley is currently led by AIG Ishwar Karki. The DIGs are working under the leadership of the provincial police. The AIGs deployed from the center have been assigned with the role of coordinating with the DIG and all units below them, directing them to make the security action plan effective, and making additional strategies if shortcomings are found and managing operations accordingly.

About 75,000 police officers have been deployed across the country for election security. Nepal Police and 149,000 election police officers have been deployed for the security of election polling stations/voting centers. According to the Police Headquarters, about 14,000 police officers and election police officers have been deployed at polling stations identified as having general security, about 27,000 at sensitive ones, and about 37,000 at highly sensitive ones. In addition, about 13,000 police officers and election police officers have been deployed for command operations, including mobile, reserve, and other security.
