There is a possibility of snowfall and rain in the mountainous and high hilly regions of the country from Monday night to Wednesday morning. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal is currently under the influence of a westerly wind and a low-pressure system formed in the Arabian Sea.

According to the department, there is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall in some places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces and in the mountainous regions of the rest of the provinces from Monday night (October 10) to Wednesday morning (October 12).

The department has also stated that there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki province. According to the department, there is a possibility of snowfall and rain in some places in Gorkha, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Kaski and Parbat. Similarly, there is a possibility of snowfall and rain in Dolpa as well.

The department has urged tourists to be cautious as there is a possibility of snow and rain. Recently, there has been a rush of tourists to the mountainous districts including Manang, Mustang, Dolpa.

The Mustang District Administration Office has also published a notice on Monday evening to prevent any untoward situation due to the seasonal change. In a notice issued by Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal, citing the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, it has been urged not to trek through the trekking routes in the high mountainous areas (Mustang-Dolpa Yakkharka area of ​​Mustang district at 5800 meters, Mustang-Manang Thorongla Pass at 5450 meters, Mustang-Manang Saribung Pass at 6000 meters, and Dhampus Peak of Mustang-Myagdi Dhaulagiri trekking route) as there is a high possibility of light to heavy snowfall.

Similarly, the administration has urged tourists/pilgrims to travel with necessary information regarding the weather forecast as there is a possibility of snowfall and rain in other parts of Mustang.
