Online business is growing in Lumbini

What you should know

It has been a long time since Sunita Aryal of Butwal sub-metropolitan city-11 did not spend a lot of money to buy goods. She started making online payments since the launch of mobile banking services and said that she feels safe when she does not have to carry money. She said, 'When technology is mixed, it seems as if it is moving according to the times.'

She shared her experience that online payment is easy, but sometimes when the network is bad, the money is not transferred, sometimes the payment is repeated and it is difficult to get the money back. She also said that she does not like the fact that she is charged for every scan. Sunita, who runs a

beauty parlour, feels that the customers who come to her would have paid online instead of cash. But sometimes it takes a long time to make a single payment due to internet problems and sometimes due to app problems and the fact that the money does not come to the account even after the customer says that the payment has been made is a hassle . Digital payment is easy for him because he can easily send money to each other and can easily buy goods from far away.

Prakash Neupane of Tilottama-6 has placed a phone payo scanner in his departmental store . He said that since the bank has given the merchant code, it is easy for him to purchase goods and do other transactions.

He said that all merchants are hesitant to take such a code because they need various documents to get a merchant code from the bank. He stated that it would be easy to do business through merchant code, and said, 'Sometimes, even though the money has gone from the customer's account, there is a problem when it does not appear in the businessmen's account.'

The population of Rupandehi is increasing due to migration. Immigrants seem more accustomed to mobile banking and online transactions than the residents. From paan shops to mobile shops, from malls to tea shops and cafes, the online payment style is growing .

Jeevan Prakash Pandey, information officer of Nepal Rastra Bank Bhairawa branch, said that the use of digital payments is increasing in Rupandehi and the main cities of Lumbini. He said that from the meat shop to the car sales room, financial transactions are being done through the use of QR and said that people are becoming accustomed to the use of technology.

The report released recently by Rashtra Bank Bhairahawa branch also includes the data of mobile and internet and branchless banking in financial institutions till last December. Among the 12 districts of Lumbini, Rupandehi has 32.69 percent of mobile banking transactions, while Rupandehi has the highest number of registered internet banking services, i.e. 46.23 percent.
