The District Police Office Kaski has expressed the opinion that 51 people should be prosecuted including the Chairman of the National Independent Party, Ravi Lamichhane, in the investigation report on the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud submitted to the District Public Prosecutor's Office on Monday. The police is of the opinion that one billion 51 million 40 million 19 thousand 194 rupees should be recovered from them.

District Police Office Kaski spokesperson DSP Vasant Kumar Sharma said that 37 out of 51 are absconding. Police are of the opinion that they should be prosecuted for crimes related to cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering.

The defendants range from the officers and members of the board of directors of the cooperative to the directors of the company where the funds of the cooperative were illegally invested. From former DIG Chhabilal Joshi to Baglung's Dhorpatan Municipality chief Dev Kumar Nepali. Nepalis are in custody in Baglung prison pending charges of misappropriating the savings of Image Cooperative in Baglung and Pokhara.

District Attorney Kamala Kafle said that after receiving the investigation report, District Attorney Kamala Kafle is studying. He said that based on the opinion of the police, a study is being conducted on which title to prosecute the charge sheet.

On Thursday, Joshi, the former owner of Gorkha Media, along with Lamichhane, Ram Bahadur Khanal, owner of Nature Herbs, Leela Pachai, who was involved in the fraud of Suryadarshan Cooperative, and Krishna Bahadur Gurung, the member of the co-operative's board of directors, were extended by 5 days by the district court. They are expected to appear in court on Tuesday, demanding an extension. "It takes time to study the investigation report," District Attorney Kafle said, "We will probably request an extension."

Former DIG Joshi was arrested on October 6. As the 90-day time limit for investigation in the money laundering offense comes into effect from the date of his arrest, the court must submit the charge sheet to the court within 4 days. After that, the debate begins behind closed doors.
