Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal candidate Devendra Prasad Yadav has been elected as the chairman of Dakneshwari municipality ward number 4 of Saptari.

Yadav, a candidate from Jaspa, Nepal, was elected as the ward chairman of Dakneshwari 4 in Saptari district in the local by-election held on Sunday by getting 372 votes.

According to the Election Commission, Yadav defeated the Congress candidate. Jogindra Rai Amat, the candidate for the ward president of the Congress, got 277 votes. 

Janmat Party's Udayanarayan Pandit came third with 231 votes, while UML's Sanjay Kumar Yadav got 68 votes.

Maoist Center candidate Bhagwat Ram got 9 votes and Ramkumar Yadav of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party got 6 votes for the chairmanship of Dakneshwari 4. According to the Election Commission, Shivkumar Ram of Civil Liberation Party got 3 votes and Ravindra Rai of Janata Samajwadi Party got 3 votes.
