Amin Tharu of Nepali Congress has been elected as the chairman of Bardia municipality ward number 4.

In the by-election held on Sunday, Congress candidate Tharu was elected by getting 1,043 votes, the Election Commission has informed. 

Sher Bahadur Tharu of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), Tharu's nearest rival, has received 678 votes.

Bishnu Prasad Devkota of Nepal Communist Party (UML) got 337 votes, Pritilal Tharu of Civil Liberation Party got 70 votes, Ratnale of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party got 52 votes and Basudev Sharma of Rashtriya Swatantra Party got 17 votes.
