Due to incessant rain since Friday morning, landslides have occurred at 68 places on various highways and roads have been blocked till mid-day on Saturday. Most of the roads connecting Kathmandu are blocked.

According to Sushilbabu Dhakal, Joint Secretary and Spokesman of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, traffic has come to a standstill due to landslides in various sections of the Nagdhunga-Naubise, Dakshinkali-Sisneri-Bhimphedi, Arani highways connecting Kathmandu.

Similarly, vehicles and passengers have been stopped on the road due to landslides in various sections of BP Highway, Madhyapahari, Prithvi Highway.

'We have deployed technical teams with machine tools in places where there is a risk of landslides,' Spokesperson Dhakal said, 'In some places, we have moved the roads blocked by landslides in one direction and in some places, we have opened them in a two-way manner.' He says that there is a problem in moving away.
