The BP and Araniko highways, which were blocked due to floods, are now operating one-way. Both the highways were blocked since this morning due to the flood that came from above the road due to continuous rain, and the police and the local people's representatives started one-way operations.
Rajkumar Shrestha, deputy superintendent of police of the district police office informed that the road which was blocked due to the flood in the stream along with the river in the direction of Mangaltar, Narke, Lhaskot and Charyasbensi of Roshi rural municipality under the BP highway running through Kavrepalanchok and towards Baunnkilo and Dhulikhel municipality of Panchkhaal municipality under the highway of Arani.
This morning due to continuous rain since Friday night, Roshi-8 Narke and Charsaybensi, in front of Mangaljanvijay Mavi in Mangaltar in Ward No. 9, BP Highway in Ward No. 11 Kaldhunga and Mamti in Ward No. 12 were blocked from Kharekhola to I. According to the police, work is being done for the two-way operation of the road on the initiative of the residents.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrestha, due to the continuous rain, efforts are being made to open the roads by mobilizing the police in problem areas. Since the road was blocked from Kharekhola to Ledo I on the BP highway at Roshi-7 Lhaskot, the police had taken the initiative to operate the road since last night.
Pranau Shrestha informed that the road has been opened with the help of JCB and Excavator in coordination with locals and public representatives.
This morning, the road was blocked due to flood from Kharekhola located at 52 km of Panchkhaal municipality-8 under Arani highway section. He said that even at that place, one-way traffic is being conducted now.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrestha informed that the road which was blocked due to falling trees and a landslide near Dhulikhel Municipality-8 Tirtiredhara is now operating one-way. The police said that due to the continuous rain, it is difficult to operate vehicles smoothly.
