Kaluram Chaudhary of Municipality-9 Geruwa, Thakurdwara of Bardia, was born on the banks of Karnali. For the 38-year-old Chaudhary, who spent his childhood with Karnali, fishing and swimming were routine as a child. When the settlement was flooded during the monsoon, he was busy in moving his family and neighbors to a safe place.

Chaudhary, who has been associated with the river since childhood, is still busy with the river. But now they are reaching the rivers of western Nepal not for fishing or swimming, but as rafting guides. Now he is invited to work as a guide. 

He is reaching for rafting in rivers including Karnali, Mahakali, Bheri and Seti. Choudhary, who is busy in satisfying the tourists on the adventure cruise, has been rafting in the Mahakali river for two weeks. A company called Adrift Adventure is conducting rafting in Bhimdatta Municipality-9 Khalla and Musetti areas. Chowdhury learned guide work from Bardia Thakur while working in a hotel. Initially, he worked as a helper in a hotel. At that time Adventure Hotel used to organize rafting from Chisapani to Thakurdwara. At first, he climbed the boat as a hobby, but gradually he became a guide. Now he has become an excellent guide in western Nepal for adventure travel.
