He went to Kathmandu to pursue higher education and became involved in social work along with his studies. Which introduced him to social activism.
Due to his active role in the Gen-G movement, he became the Minister of Youth and Sports from the Gen-G group. When he was a minister, he especially initiated the land transfer process of the Ram Kumar Sarada-Uma Prasad Murar Memorial Hospital in Lahan, which had been in a state of neglect for a long time. He also took the initiative to reconstruct the Kamala Bridge connecting Siraha-Dhanusha and construct an immediate river diversion.
Bablu, who was fortunate enough to become a minister due to his introduction as a social activism and active role in the Gen-G movement, has now been elected as a member of the House of Representatives in the wave of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) that is sweeping the country. He said that the people have given him victory as a result of his contributions to society and the good work he has done as a minister.
‘The contribution I made to society as a social activist and as a minister is the reason for my victory. The wave of change has made my victory easier,’ he told Kantipur. ‘Now my responsibility has increased. I will fulfill the responsibility given by the people without leaving any stone unturned. I will work hard for good governance in the country and the development of my area.’
Bablu’s father Bisun Baniya is a former Siraha district vice-president of the Nepali Congress. However, he said that he was very happy with his son’s victory even though he could not become a public representative. ‘I struggled a lot in the Congress, but there was a tradition that only one person would get the opportunity,’ he said. ‘Now this tradition has been broken. My son has been serving the society for a long time. Now I feel that he will be able to do it in a better and more effective way.’
