Due to incessant rains, some areas of Birgunj Metropolitan City have been flooded. The district administration office has also been flooded.

 

Chief District Officer Toynarayan Subedi said that after the district administration office and the surrounding area were flooded, the documents in the work room on the ground floor of the office were taken to a safe place. Some houses have been flooded in Ranighat, Bhanuchok, Adarshnagar, Chinimil area etc. He said that up to 260 milliliters of rain was recorded in Birgunj.

Since then, Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality office has asked the local residents to be highly alert. There is a possibility of flooding in Vedaha river, Tilawe river and Sirsia river in Birganj and the risk of inundation has increased, the city police, disaster management, health, electricity and sanitation teams have been put on standby.
