On Monday, 65-year-old mother Sikilia Devi was playing in the yard of Shaheed Rajkishore Thakur in Mahuliya, Ishanath Municipality-4. She narrates to anyone who visits the house the constant pain of remembering her son. After the death of her 20-year-old son Rajkishore, who was shot by security personnel during the Madhesh movement, mother Sikilia Devi is upset.

On the morning of August 8, 2072, the son Rajkishore went to the headquarter Gaur to take medicine saying that his mother had a headache. They get confused for a while at BP Chowk in Gaur. He sees a large number of protestors gathering all around and he also participates in the same crowd . Then there is a stone-pelting clash between the security personnel and the protestors .

After the movement started with the slogan 'equal share in the state', it started to clash with the police on a daily basis. Rajkishore became the victim of that clash. He, who participated in the protest, was shot in the stomach by the security personnel and fell down there. The protestors picked him up and took him to Gaur Hospital. As treatment was not possible there, he died on the way while being taken to Birganj for further treatment. Rajkishore, who went to take medicine for his mother, left without ever coming back.

After the death of her son, 65-year-old mother Sicilia became crazy. Her eyes still fill with tears when she mentions her son's name. Our light of hope has gone out. The family lost the son they were hoping for,' she said, 'what have we got now by joining the Madhesh movement? Madhesh has forgotten our son.'

Rajkishore is the youngest of Sicilia's four sons. His three sons are working as barbers in the Nepali Army. All four sons were separated. Mother Sikilia and father Mahendra Thakur lived with the younger Rajkishore. Only two hours after the incident, the Thakur family got the news that their son was shot and taken to the hospital. Rajkishore's wife Anshu Devi collapsed at home on hearing the news. He had a two-month-old son in his arms.

After Rajkishore's death, his body was kept in Gaur Hospital for three days. The family took the stance of not identifying the body until the martyrdom was declared. There was a loud movement demanding that he should be declared a martyr. The local administration recommended martyrdom. On August 2, 2073, the government declared him a martyr. The government had given 10 lakhs as compensation. The Thakur family is not in a position to rely on compensation. Mother Sikilia also says that after the death of her son, the days of hardship began in the family . "Being a martyr's family, the government had to build a house," she said. Where is this justice?

Rajkishore's wife Anshu has been working on contract as an office assistant at the village health post since 2073. Rajkishore's brother Hareram Thakur accuses the martyrs of the Madhesh movement of being neglected. At the beginning of the incident, leaders from the province and district used to come home. Now not a single person comes,' he said, 'no leader of Madhesh remembers us on Martyr's Day.' The Martyr's Gate, which was going to be built in the village in the name of Martyr, has also fallen into disrepair. Jaspa MP Shobha Sah took the initiative to build the gate.

During the Madhesh movement, the movement reached its peak in the Madhesh districts, calling for the rights of the Madheshis and an equal share in the state. Madhesh had to make a sacrificial struggle to establish this issue. People used to protest against the government from the villages to the headquarter Gaur. At that time, Gaur was suffering for a long time . There was a double clash between security personnel and protestors at BP Chowk in Gaur.

After the first sacrificial Madhesh uprising on January 5, 2063, the second Madhesh uprising in 2064 and the third Madhesh movement took place in 2072 for the same issue. The leaders of Madhesh say that even though the movement has produced many leaders, the issue remains the same. A leader who left the Madhesi People's Rights Forum at the time said that Madhesh was stuck in the tunnel of uncertain movement when the power was concentrated.

'I will have a problem with publishing the name . My only comment is that I am surprised to see the closeness of Madhesi leaders to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is constantly attacking Madhesh and Madheshi people, who are playing on the Madhesh issue. They carry the issue of Madhesh. This has also insulted the martyr.'

Three people lost their lives in Rautahat during the Madhesh movement. During the protest, 19-year-old Shams Tabrez of Pokhria of Paroha Municipality was also killed by security personnel at BP Chowk in the headquarters of Gour in the afternoon of 5th January 2072. He was shot in the stomach. Tabrez's father Firoz Akhtar has left the village after the

incident. Akhtar, who is mentally disturbed after the death of his only son Tabrez, now lives in a camp in Gaur. On the same day, Mainsadhin Vasta of Baluwa in Rajpur Municipality also died due to the firing by the security personnel.

After the Madhesh movement, the Madhesi People's Rights Forum was established as Nepal Dal. He prioritized joining the party saying that it would give meaning to the issue of Madhesh. The wave of entering the forum established in the rap of the movement went on.

UML became the fourth party in the Parliament by bringing 53 seats in the first Constituent Assembly election after the wave of those who entered the party from the Congress. After that, the Madhesi parties that came to power started to separate and Madhesi leaders say that the Madhesi issue has disappeared. Sadbhavana Party was the only party along with the forum. Later under his own leadership Vijay Gachchdar of Congress formed the Forum Democratic, Rajkishore Yadav formed the Forum Republican and Sharadsingh Bhandari formed the Rashtriya Madhesh Samajwadi Party .

Vijay Gachchdar has now returned to the Congress. Rajkishore and Sharad Singh are in Jaspa . Rajendra Mahato of Sadbhavana has registered another party. Anil Jha is in good faith. Mahanth Thakur separated from the Congress and formed the Terai-Madhesh Democratic Party. Madhesh has been betrayed by the leaders, but the movement has not betrayed the Gaur-9 Sabgadha district leader of Sadbhavana Party Sheikh Nurulhoda said.

'Sadbhavana Party gave names to leaders, made them ministers, built houses in Kathmandu, built palaces, but now those Madhesh leaders have been forgotten, martyrs have been forgotten,' he said, 'Now Madheshi leaders have all become separate . They started making close to only those who have money . Started working on the old workers.'
