For the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21, UML has fielded Dr. Ram Bahadur Raut from Palpa Constituency No. 2.

Central member and outgoing House of Representatives member Narayan Acharya has been re-elected from Constituency No. 1. Acharya had won the 2079 election by a wide margin from Constituency No. 1.

Raut, who got the ticket from Constituency No. 2, has been living in Tansen Municipality-3 for a long time. Raut, who is known from a non-governmental organization background, was previously a member of the UML Lumbini Province Committee. In 2074 and 2079, he was a candidate for the post of chairman of Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality.

He was unable to win in both elections. He was also a former advisor to Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya.

Along with Raut, the names of outgoing House of Representatives member Thakur Prasad Gaire and Constituent Assembly member Narayani Sharma were recommended from Palpa-2.
