Lal Bahadur Tharu still feels proud when he takes the name of his grandfather Baijnath Tharu. Why not? His grandfather led the peasant movement on behalf of the Nepali Congress against the Rana regime. Because of that leadership, he was brutally beaten by Indian soldiers under the direction of the then rulers. And due to this beating, he died on 14th Chait 2007.

In honor of Baijnath, the rural municipality that was formed in the then Chisapani, Naubasta, Bankatwa and Titihiriya gavis in Banke has been named Baijnath Rural Municipality. Formerly Vankatwa Ward No. Baijnath, who was born on 3rd, is still remembered as a martyr in this region.

Lal Bahadur said that civil society and political parties should respect grandfather's support. He said, 'It is not enough to name a martyr, we should also continue to honor him.' He expressed his sadness that not even a salik was made in honor of his grandfather, and said, 'It is sad that he who took a bullet in his chest and shed his blood for the country, is not even honored.' '

Local Congress leader Sanat Regmi said that Shahid Baijnath was a revolutionary warrior struggling for the change of the then system. He told that the Indian army had besieged the entire Pedari village to kill Baijnath and said, "Baijnath died during treatment after being hit by the Indian army's guns and boots."

Another local Congress leader, Yuvraj Sharma, remembered Baijnath as a revolutionary leader. He said that along with the districts of West Terai, injustice, oppression, exploitation and oppression of landlords and Rana rulers were increasing in Baijnath revolution.
