Indramohan Smriti Guthi Dhankuta has presented awards to four artists who have contributed in various fields. Guthi has been awarding 'Om-Indramohan Smriti Puraskar' every two years to a person who has contributed in the fields of literature, journalism and music.
On this occasion, singer Kunti Moktan, writer and journalist Kishore Pahadi, writer Rudra Gyawali and poet Manjushree Giri were awarded with cash for song/music.
Kavi Giri was awarded 15,000 and 25,000 each in cash and certificate to three other people in the program organized in Biratnagar. Kavi Gokul Adhikari, Murari Sigdel, Radhika Guragain, Meenkumar Navodit, Lakshmi Rayamazhi and Bhavna Shrestha commented on the awardees and their works on the occasion. In the
program, the former head of Koshi province Prof. Dr. Govinda Bahadur Tumbahang said that language, literature and music are the mirror of the nation. In the year 2062, artist and philanthropist Omkar Shrestha founded Guthi in memory of his parents. Shrestha, the founder of Guthi, has also passed away. Since then Dr. Vimala Shrestha, Vivash Pokharel and others have been supporting Guthi's activities.
