Fifteen candidates have filed their candidacies in Khotang for the direct election to the House of Representatives. Two independents and 13 parties have registered their candidacies.
According to Chief Election Officer District Judge Phanindra Prasad Parajuli, the candidates are listed alphabetically as Aren Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Kesharman Chamling of the Miteri Party Nepal, Chandra Bahadur Budhathoki of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist), and Tilak Chandra Rai as an independent candidate.
Similarly, Deepak Tamang of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Dev Bikram Rai of the CPN-UML, Dhyan Prasad Dhakal of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Prayag Rai of the Mongol National Organization, Miresh Rai of the Rastriya Parivartan Party, Rakesh Rai of the Janata Samajwadi Party, and independent Dr. Rajkumar Rai have filed their candidacies.
Similarly, Rudra Giri of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Birkaji Rai of the Nepali Congress, Sunil Chamling of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, and Dr. Hari Roka of the Nepali Communist Party have filed their candidacies, according to Chief Election Officer Parajuli.
