CPN-UML's Jang Bahadur Shahi has won the post of chairman of Mahabu Village. According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Shahi was elected with 3,127 votes.

His nearest rival Jhalak Bhandari of Nepali Congress got 2,675 votes. Likewise, Jang Bahadur Baral of NCP Maoist Center got 842 votes and Prakash Kumar Budha of RSVP got 112 votes.

Nepali Congress had won in this municipality before. The newly elected President Shahi was also elected on behalf of UML in 2074.
