Although the prohibition order was announced in the main market area, the protestors had already gathered in the morning of August 24 in the hall of Pokhara. The sloganeering started at 10 am in front of the auditorium. The number of protesters was increasing.

One team of protestors was in favor of protesting in front of the hall with a banner, while another team prepared to surround the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality office in New Road. A group marched towards New Road shouting slogans. The higher the crowd moving towards Chipledhunga, the bigger it was. 

Protesters reached in front of the metropolitan office and shouted slogans for a while. Nepal Police and City Police were deployed for the security of the metropolitan office. Until then, the protestors did not start vandalism . The procession reached Chipledhunga. After reaching Chipledhunga, it went down again towards New Road. The protestors were asking the locals at home to come to the procession.  By the time

came back to the metropolitan office, the protestors had gathered in the number of thousands. One team came from Chipledhunga and the other team came from Bhawanchok. There was a police team in the middle of the procession on both sides. After arriving at the metropolitan office, the protesters started pelting stones. 

Durga Bhujel, an employee of the city's sanitation branch, was inside the office that day. His office is on the left as soon as he crosses the main gate of the metropolis. She was somewhat confident that the number of protesters in the procession from the hall to Chipledhunga was less and no damage was done to the metropolis. But the procession coming back from Chipledhunga was big . When the protestors started pelting stones at the metropolitan office from around 1 o'clock in the afternoon, he felt cold. "Suddenly, stones started to be thrown from all sides, after deciding what to do, we all started looking for a place where the stones would not hit us," she said.

The number of protesters was greater than the police. The protestors were shouting that the metropolis should be burnt. They were pelting stones on police and metropolitan office. The police chased the protestors and took them to the top. Protesters came again in front of the metropolitan office. The protestors broke the gate of the metropolis and took out a motorcycle. They brought it to the road and set it on fire. The police was only on one side. As there are roads all around the metropolitan office, the protestors climbed over the wall and entered inside by using a ladder from the back. They started vandalizing the office. 

Metropolitan Chief Dhanraj Acharya was in Dubai during his visit. The chief administrative officer of the metropolis, Mukti Ram Aryalay, was in the office. He contacted Chief District Officer Rudradevi Sharma and asked for rescue. A team of armed police rescued 75 employees. The customer did not come to the office . 

Bhujel said that the protestors refused to comply with the repeated requests of the staff not to damage the government property. After the employees were taken out, the protesters started setting fire to the vehicles in the metropolitan office and office premises. The police also left the field. The process of arson in Pokhara started from the administrative building of the metropolis . 

After starting arson in the metropolitan office, government offices, leaders' homes and businesses, police stations were targeted. The burning team of the metropolis went in groups and set fire to government offices on motorcycles. Ratna Chowk, Sahid Chowk, Rashtrabai Chowk, Mustang Chowk area, government offices, offices under Gandaki province, courts, residences of ministers and employees, lakeside hotels, resorts were burnt. Heavy equipment including excavators and rollers were taken out on the road. After burning the government offices, the crowd of protestors went to burn the Bhatbhateni in New Road. Gandaki State Assembly building burnt . 

In the evening, the protestors reached the district police office building in Gaihrapatan with an excavator. One of the protestors died in the fire. Earlier, a worker in the house of businessman Dhruv Thapa, who was set on fire by the protesters, and a worker at the spa of provincial minister Vindukumar Thapa at Anshuvara Square in Lakeside died.

The main administrative building of Pokhara Metropolitan City has been completely damaged during the demonstration. Due to the arson of the building by the protestors, the important documents of the office were burnt to ashes . All the rooms of the office have been set on fire and the chief's office has been vandalized. Some materials of the office have been stolen. Due to arson, 14 ward offices of the metropolis were completely damaged and 10 were partially damaged. 9 offices are safe . 

Metropolitan spokesperson Motilal Timilsina said that the administrative building is not in a condition to be reused. He told that since the DPR has been made to build the administrative building of the metropolis at the golf course of Mustangchowk, there is a plan to build a multi-purpose building with lots of parking at the current location. 

The metropolis has regularized the service of the office from October 1 . Timilsina said that the services have been started for the time being by using various structures under the metropolis to regularize the services of the city dwellers. "The workplace has been managed in such a way as to regularize the services of all the departments and branches of the metropolis," he said.

Chief, Deputy Chief, Chief Administrative Officer's Office, Public Accounts Committee, Law Branch, Sanitation Branch, Information Technology Branch are kept in Fire Department Building located in Pokhara-9 Shanti Forest. Administration, Revenue and Urban Development Division, Bhandar, Data Disaster/Grievance Form, Documentation, Registration, Accounting Branch and Metropolitan Police Force will be in Pokhara Auditorium. The office of the head of the financial administration division and the services of the fund administration branch have flowed from the building of the education division at Pokhara-17 Damside. The education department remains the same.
