Biscuit Jatra of Bhaktapur can now be seen in Pokhara. It is possible to observe Biscuit Jatra at the 20th Fewa New Year Festival which started on Saturday under the organization of Hotel Association Pokhara.

 

On the occasion of New Year, the festival will be conducted on the road from Lakeside Damside to Khare till Baisakh 1 . Panchebaja, Bhajan, Ratayuli and dances are the attractions of the festival. Dhanraj Acharya, head of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality, inaugurated the festival in a meeting held at Ambot in Lakeside. Before the inauguration, a rally with tableaus from Khare and Damside reached the meeting place. 

Tourism, culture and food are the main attractions of the festival. On the occasion of the festival, member hotels under the association have provided 20 percent discount on their published rates. Currently, the occupancy of 80% of hotels in Pokhara has reached 80%, said Lakshman Subedi, the chairman of the organizing association and coordinator of the festival. He said that the festival will help make Pokhara's economic sector viable. He said that the purpose of the festival was to promote internal tourism and preserve Nepali original culture. Biscuit Jatra of Bhaktapur during Phewa New Year Festival Subedi said that the festival will play a role in making the Pokhara Visit Year 2025 a success, which was announced with the goal of bringing in two million tourists. Stating that after declaring Pokhara as the capital of tourism, its impact on tourism has been positive, he also expressed his belief that regular international flights will be added from Pokhara's new airport.

President of Hotel Association Nepal Vinayak Shah said that economic prosperity is possible only through tourism. He said that tourism related investments and 'brands' are increasing in Pokhara and this is a good thing. Bharatraj Parajuli, a central member of the Hotel Association of Nepal, suggested that water activities can be conducted there by removing the soil from the upper part of Phewa Lake and making a small lake.
