Deep remembered Premadhwaj's promise

Deep reminisced about his old love before singing 'Ma Ta Dur Di Aayen', back then in the chilly Darjeeling. He was remembering with the lines of 'Wait a minute, talk about something', 'I went to Darjeeling many times to finish the song, not just to find the lyrics and story, was I looking for someone?'

Deep Shrestha, who was singing in the auditorium dressed in a black cap, black jacket and singer Premdhwaj Pradhan's photo, was chanting 'once more' in every song.

In front of a big black-and-white photo of Premdhwaj holding a guitar in the background, Deep shared many emotions and memories of Premdhwaj Pradhan's life and songs, which gave Nepali music a romantic rhythm in the cold evening.

Premadhwaj-wife Kiran Kumari Pradhan was listening attentively in front of the stage while Deep was singing Premadhwaj's songs. In honor of Premadhwaj, Deep sang a dozen songs in the program 'A Tribute to the Legendary Premadhwaj Pradhan - The Golden Voice of Nepal' organized by the Golden Voice of Premadhwaj Pradhan Memorial Foundation at Chaimle Resort.

On Friday evening, Deep was going back to the past chapters and music-sadhana days. Amidst the stage lights, with the audience engrossed in the fire, Deep went back to the early story of his musical career. They were saying - how Premadhwaj used to sing songs while meditating and music discussion was poor!

Premadhwaj- In the depth of memory, he was telling the memory of the geography he was singing. "Premdhwaj used to say - Deep  Chaimle Jaun, let's sing songs on the harmonium  for one evening." Deep had also promised to go. However, as Deepak's song says, "Wait a moment, promise something..." Premadhwaj's life did not wait, Chaim's promise to leave remained unfulfilled. "Today I came to fulfill that promise, I am remembering him with my sister-in-law (Kiran Kumari) as a witness," said Deep.

Deep recalls that old day when he met Premdhwaj for the first time in 2020, when Deep was 12 years old. A music conference was held at a hospital located on Rangeli Road in Biratnagar. Nepal's famous singers Natikaji, Shivshankar, Bachukailasha, Pushpa Nepali, Premadhwaj and others came to sing in that event.

Deep remembered Premadhwaj's promise

That was the time Deep Dharan was learning to play the bongo at the Cultural Institute. Radio Nepal's instrumentalist Indralal, who had reached the conference, called Deep there. And, in the same way, Deep had accompanied Jure by playing the bongo in the Premadhwaj song. Deep remembered, 'Especially I was not a singer at that time. That year my father passed away and I met Premadhwaj in a white shirt.'  While being a judge in the

reality show 'Voice of Nepal', Deep remembered Premadhwaj being honored with the title of 'Kaljayi Gaik'. He said, 'I found out in the same program that he got the title of 'Golden Voice of Nepal' when he sang the song 'Naman Laj Yestari' with Lata Mangeshkar. Like this'.

Before singing each song, he would remember the composer of that song with respect and would enter into the composition of the song. Recalling that he went to the National Theater, Kathmandu to sing on the birth anniversary of the then King Mahendra, he sang, "I am not a stone god, I am broken and joined". After singing

, he said, 'I became singer Deep Shrestha from that song, the audience liked it. At that time, the money for singing songs on the radio was 10 rupees per song. Due to the low salary, I even made an excuse to not sing because the doctor told me not to sing. But, at that time I was composing a new song.

Deep was reminiscing about his old love while singing 'Ma Ta Dur Di Aien', which is his own composition and music. Someone who met in Darjeeling city of long ago was remembering with the line 'Wait a minute, talk something', 'I went to Darjeeling many times to finish the song, not just to find a song-story, was I looking for someone?' After singing the song 'Hoon Yatri Ukku' written by Bhairavanath Rimal 'Kadam', Deep said, 'Life is a long-long journey, where people are met. He keeps missing - like Premdhwaj dai.' Through memory, he was showing respect to Premdhwaj, 'He was a good, successful and simple singer among singers. One thing that stood out in him was the habit of not hurting anyone's heart. He used to sing whatever he composed, if we counted the number of his songs, there were so many songs. But, he is evergreen only with the songs he has composed himself.'

After singing 'Kati vaak hoha bhagya' written by Yuvan Tuladhar, Deep remembered the story of sadness and restlessness in his songs.

said, 'How many people's sorrows, shocks, and sighs are there!' After hearing something emotional, Deep sang - 'Every night there is a spasm in the village.' About the song written by poet Biplav Prateek, Deep said, 'Remembering this song, I myself sometimes I am sad.' In an informal meeting, he said about this song, 'Whenever I sing this song on the harmonium, I feel as if my mother is sitting in the apple of my eye.'

Deep remembered Premadhwaj's promise

Drinking hot water and playing harmonium Deep sang continuously for 2 hours. Even though the cold night of the outgoing Pus was getting dark, the spectators sitting in the sukul and heating the side fire kept saying 'once more'. Looking at the dark hill of Chaimle, Deep sang the bit of the program held in honor of Premdhwaj: Someone bring the darkness

kept pressing on my chest night after night

Please someone bring the light

'There is not only darkness in life, light is waiting for you', Deep said, turning to his daughter Drishti. In the event, Prashant Pokharel paid tribute to Premadhwaj through 'Goretto Tyo Village Ko', Yadavraj Pandey with 'Ghumtima Naau Hai' and Suraj Thapa with 'Par Layjau Phoolhuru'. Vijay Shrestha, the owner of Chaim Resort, was saying, "We always respect the legend Shrestha. Maybe we could give real respect to Premadhwaj today.'
