'Marsyangi Evening' in Hong Kong

It was a Sunday evening shopping evening at the auditorium in Yuen Long, Hong Kong's busy market. The musical program organized by Lamjung Service Committee Hong Kong lasted for about three hours. More than a dozen artists who arrived from Nepal entertained the Hong Kong Nepalis.

Folk singer Manju Vick warmed up the atmosphere with the song "Soltiko Jhan Herai Nashalu" by Maya Gurung (Devimaya Thapa Gurung) with songs like "Gaonsahrama Lamjung Darbar", Khusbu Gurung's "Kin Jasari Che Dukhdhuki Mutuko" and folk singer Raju Pariyar's "Duradande Dai". He recalled his thoughts. The audience was mesmerized when Raju sang Thadovaka along with Manju.

Singer While the singer was performing the song, pictures of villages around Lamjung were also shown on the screen. Saroj Gurung, outgoing president of Lamjung Service Committee Hong Kong, said, "It was like coming back to my own village." After Chhewang Lama sang 'Timi Wari Ma Chu Pari', Khusbu Gurung accompanied her by singing 'Isarale Bolaun Narai'. Actors from Gurung Film Association Hong Kong also danced in the event.
