Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has started his budget speech by remembering the first Finance Minister, Subarna Shumsher. Addressing both houses of the federal parliament on Friday, he mentioned the name of the Finance Minister of 2008 before entering the budget.
He initially presented the Economic Survey. Nepal had started making the budget official since 2008. The first official budget of Nepal was made public by Finance Minister Subarna Shumsher of the Matrika Prasad Koirala-led government on Magh 21, 2008.
Subarna had presented a budget of Rs 52.52 million to the parliament.
