The government has set limits on personal savings and loans in cooperatives. According to which, now there is a provision that the members cannot transact more than 50 lakh rupees.

Arrangements of the Ordinance:

• Up to 50 million rupees in cooperatives having a scope of more than one province and doing the main business of savings and loans.
• Up to 2.5 lakh rupees in co-operative organizations which mainly deal in savings and loans with more than one district.
• A limit of 10 lakh rupees has been set for cooperative organizations that have a working area within one district and do the main business of savings and loans.
• The government has given a two-year deadline to bring the personal savings within the mentioned limits when the ordinance started.
• The loan cannot exceed 15 percent of the primary capital fund of the cooperative.
• When a member deposits more than ten lakh rupees in a cooperative organization, he must disclose the source of such amount.
• If the member does not disclose the source, the cooperative will not accept the amount.
