According to the information given by the Chitwan District Police Office on Sunday morning, the road will not be opened immediately as the landslides and rockfalls have not stopped in Tanahun and Dhading areas of Prithvi Highway.
'There is immediate information as the road opens . Therefore, all the vehicles in various 'safety holding spaces' of Chitwan are requested to follow the lane discipline and stay patiently,' said DSP Ravindra Khanal, spokesperson of Chitwan District Police Office. For the safety of vehicles and passengers stopped due to landslides, safety holding spaces have been designated at 14 different places in Chitwan and the vehicles have been kept at those places.
It was decided by the meeting of stakeholders held on Saturday evening at the Chitwan District Administration Office to arrange accommodation for the drivers and passengers of the stopped vehicles at a 75% discount on the previous price in hotels across Chitwan. According to which, Chitwan Police informed that 146 passengers came in contact and stayed in the hotel.
