Due to the rain since Saturday, landslides have occurred at various places on BP highway and Arani highway in the district. District Police Office Kavre has informed that the highway has been completely closed due to erosion of Roshi Khola at various places on the highway.
According to Office Chief Superintendent of Police Komal Shah, Chowkidanda under BP Highway, Roshi Khola has cut the highway in the areas of Ghuman, Mamti and others. "The highway has been completely blocked due to the river cutting the highway," he said, "It is not possible to travel on foot in that place."
Similarly, another highway located in the district, Araniko Highway, has been blocked due to landslides including landslides at various places, he said. According to him, landslides including mud and stones have fallen on the 54 km and Khawa road sections of the highway. He said that the traffic was stopped at that place too.
He informed that the two-way traffic was blocked due to landslides including rocks and stones in the Sanga area, which is located on the border of Kavre and Bhaktapur districts under the Araniko highway. According to him, now there is a landslide removal work going on. Now traffic has been resumed from the Bhaktapur-Nala road section as an alternative route.
Similarly, Kuntaveshi-Nagarkot road section connecting Kathmandu is also blocked, he said. According to him, traffic has been blocked in that area as the road has been washed away in the new village of that road section.
