The voting process has been completed in Hetaunda-12 under the local level by-election-2081. According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, about 68.07 percent votes were cast. 5 thousand 483 votes were cast in this ward with a total of 8 thousand 53 voters.
Voting was held in 9 centers of Bishnu Jyoti Basic and Pratibha Mavi in this ward. There were 4 polling stations in Bishnu Jyoti Basic School and 5 in Pratibha.
In Bishnu Jyoti Basic School, out of 3625 voters, 2474 votes have fallen. Out of which 1183 men and 1291 women have voted. In Pratibha Secondary School, there were 4,428 voters and 3,012 votes were cast. Out of which 1372 men and 1635 women have voted.
The voting process started from 7 am on Sunday and was conducted till 5 pm. Chief Electoral Officer Avani Mainali said that the voters were excitedly queuing up for voting from 4 am. The elected ward president Lalit Ghalan from this ward was elected as the head of the district coordination committee and the election was held in the vacant position. Compared to the local level elections of 2079, 1,588 voters were added in the by-elections.
There are 12 candidates for the post of Ward President are Out of which nine have become candidates from different parties and three have become independent candidates. Rajesh Nagarkoti from UML, Arjun Prasad Tiwari from Congress, Ravikumar Pradhan from Maoist Center, Ashaveer Bal from RSVP, Prem Bahadur Bholan from RPR, Chabilal Waiba from JSPA, Deepa Lama from Mongolian National Organization, Phoolmaya Titung from Nemkipa and Balram Bal from United Socialist Party are candidates for ward president.
Arjun Ghalan, Gitakumari Newar and Chhatraprakash Adhikari have also become candidates for the post of ward president.
