In the by-election for the post of vice president in Gaurishankar Rural Municipality, 46 percent voting was done till 2 pm.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has informed that 7,249 votes have been cast till 2 pm out of a total of 15,718 voters.

Very strict security arrangements have been made at the polling place. More than 1,000 security personnel have been mobilized in 12 polling stations. 16 candidates from 7 parties, including 9 independents, are competing for the post of vice president.
