During the war, 750 Argentine and 256 British soldiers died. The Gurkha Regiment of the British Army was deployed at the front line of the war. The bravery of the Gurkha soldiers was discussed all over the world because of the defeat of the British in the war.
Shortly after the defeat of the Falklands War, the military regime ended and civilian rule was restored in Argentina. In Britain, Prime Minister Thatcher's popularity reached its peak and in the 1983 parliamentary elections, Thatcher's Labor Party managed to obtain a large majority.
