More than 68 percent votes were cast in the by-election for the post of ward chairman in Duhun Rural Municipality-5. According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, 68.94 percent votes were cast.
According to the Chief Election Officer's office, a total of 877 people voted, including 401 men and 476 women, in A and B polling stations of Durga Basic School Garmora located in Duhun Village-5.
There are 1,272 voters in Duhun-5. Four people, including one independent, are competing for the post of ward chairman. Mansingh Badal from UML, Dhansingh Kunwar from Congress, Virsingh Karki from Maoist and Lal Bahadur Kunwar from Independent are in the election field.
Manorath Bhatta, the ward president elected from the Maoist center in the local elections of 2079, died in June 2080, and by-elections have been held here now.
