55 percent votes were cast in the election for the ward president in Bhimdatta Municipality-6 of Kanchanpur under the by-elections of the local level. According to the District Election Office, 2,991 people voted.

According to District Election Officer Udayraj Joshi, 1,385 men and 1,666 women have voted. There are 5 thousand 434 voters in that ward.

12 people, 10 from political parties and 2 from independent parties, have nominated for ward president . The by-election was held after Mahendra Khadka, elected from the Nepali Congress, passed away in a motorcycle accident a year ago.

Chief Electoral Officer Leelaraj Adhikari said that they are ready to start the counting of votes from Sunday after holding an all-party meeting. He said that the ballot boxes have been delivered to the counting place and preparations are being made for the all-party meeting.
