Scotland set a target of 171 runs for Nepal in the Twenty20 World Cup on Tuesday with opener Michael Jones' 71. After Nepal captain Rohit Poudel won the toss, Scotland, who came in to bat at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, scored 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Scoring 52 runs without loss in the powerplay, Scotland got off to a great start by putting on 80 runs in the first 10 overs. Captain Rohit Poudel dismissed George Munshi in the last ball of the 10th over. Munshi scored 27 runs off 29 balls, hitting 4 fours.

McMullan was given a lifeline for 15 runs when he was caught by Sandeep Jora off Nandan Yadav. Jones shared a 52-run partnership with McMullan off 32 balls for the second wicket. Sompal Kami tried to bring Nepal back into the game by dismissing both of them in the 16th over. Sompal bowled Jones and cut and bowled McMullan.

Nepal won the toss for the first time in the tournament. Nepal has fielded Sandeep Jora in place of Karan KC from the team that played the previous match. This is Jora's first match in the tournament. Karan, a medium-pacer who played the first 3 matches, could not take any wickets.

Scotland, who came in at the last minute to replace Bangladesh after they withdrew from the tournament, played the first three matches at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This is the first time the team is playing in Mumbai. Although Nepal has been playing all four matches at Wankhede, it has not been able to take advantage of it in the previous matches.
