Presidential Graduate School, the educational partner of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), has announced that it will plant coffee seedlings based on the number of fours and sixes hit in the NPL. According to the college, it has been decided to plant four coffee seedlings for every four and six for every six in the match.
"Coffee farming will help strengthen the local economy, create jobs and further strengthen the college's collaboration with the rural community," said college president Laxman KC.
The location for planting this year has not yet been determined. The college said that evaluation work is ongoing to identify a suitable site.
According to the college, this campaign was launched with the belief that educational institutions should not be limited to classroom teaching but should also be active in rural development and promotion of local products. The college has also come up with a plan to provide direct support, training and potential market access to rural farmers through coffee farming.
